Lighter
The more I let myself be blown away by the wind,
more layers of you I shed
until I feel lighter,
cut off all the weight
skinned alive from my body onto
purgatory of discarded -
memories of embracing you
feelings I had for you
feelings you told me you had for me
attachments buttoned up the wrong way
I love you’s
in forms of dried up cocoons
left behind by caterpillars
now butterflies.
I, too, am soaring.
